A little bit about Captain: Captain is a very affection boy. Loves attention. Will bring toys from the toy box but is then unsure about what to do with them. He loves his walks and has settled very well in foster. He has had a tough time previously and needs a loving home to settle into.

Home Life: Captain is mostly house trained. He has marked his territory a couple of times in the early days of foster. Overall, he is a very clean dog.

Captain has been left for up to 3 hours along with another dog. He settles well in the hallway, and sleeps in his bed there all night.

He loves his walks. Especially his trips to the Free Run dog parks. His recall was surprisingly good. He walks well on a slip lead and would walk all day given the chance!

Captain is very polite when meeting other dogs. He has never shown any aggression towards them. Captain would take great pleasure in chasing cats or birds.

Captain has met children on our walks and has never shown any great interest in them.

Captain has taken confidence from his fosterer’s resident dog. He does not bother about any sudden noises or traffic out on walks.

He has had some training during his time in foster and is keen to learn. He will sit and stay, and down. He is quickly learning the NO word.

Captain can be slightly nervous of sudden noises in the house but just removes himself to another space. He loves to sit on the sofa beside you or curl up at your feet.

Captain absolutely loves the garden. He likes doing zoomies or lying on the decking taking in the views.

Captain has been living with another dog. They get on well. He is unsure how to play, which through time will come.

He eats a mix of wet and dry food. He doesn't always eat his breakfast but enjoys dinner. He will happily let you lift his bowl away from him. No guarding issues.

We have been doing short trips in the car with him. Captain likes to sit on the back seat with seatbelt on and likes the window down.

Visiting the vet: Captain has been health-checked and is fit and well. He is up to date with his vaccinations. He seemed to enjoy his trip to the vet. Put himself up on the table with the help of a chair. No health issues noted.

Behavioural issues:  None reported.

Home needs: Captain would love an active family home with a big garden and plenty of interesting walks. He is going to make an excellent family dog. He has so much love to give. Would live easily with another dog. No cats. Older children would be fine.

Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
