A little bit about Billy …. He is a contented, happy and quiet boy, very well behaved, and just loves company. He is friendly with everyone he meets, sometimes barks at other dogs but is not aggressive with them. Loves to be beside you, cuddle in and fall asleep.
Energy Requirements: Billy was not getting enough exercise; his fosterer is building up the amount of exercise he gets. He pulls at first on the lead but settles quickly. His recall is reported to be good. He likes to play ball.
Training: Billy’s fosterer is working in his lead walking and testing his recall.
Visiting the vet: Billy has a few lumps and bumps as you would expect at his age. These have been checked during his health check at the vet. He has been treated for an ear infection. He is currently on a diet as he was overweight when he came in. If he is over-exercised he can become lame on his front leg but will benefit from a supplement such as YuMove.
Travelling: Travels well in the car, used to a harness so can be clipped on in the back.
Food: Currently being fed Skinners kibble, complete light and senior.
Sleep: Billy likes to sleep on the bed with his owner/fosterer, or just anywhere he lands!.
Behavioural issues: No behavioural issues noted.
Home needs: Billy would like a quiet home with someone around most of the time. He needs 2-3 short walks daily, gradually increasing to build up his stamina and keep his weight down. He would like a secure garden to potter about in. He could live with older children, another dog and is now used to cats.
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
