Nana was previously used for breeding in a puppy farm and has learned very quickly how much fun it is to live in a house, she spent some time in a kennel rescue with the other dogs removed from the same situation and then came to SRS to start learning how to live in a family home, safe to say she has adapted wonderfully and is ready now to find her forever home.
A little bit about Nana: Nana is very sweet; she is inquisitive and curious when out. She is a laid-back girl who loves a cuddle.
She has a little dance when wanting something and rolls over for tummy tickles.
She loves to be with you.
Home Life: Nana has separation anxiety which we are working on. She will relax when left after initial 20 mins. She sleeps on the bed with her fosterer.
She is good on walks, doesn’t pull, is good with dogs, children and adults when out walking on street. When she is out for a longer walk on a long line and harness it’s nose down for all the smells! Recall is a work in progress. She is very chilled when out, will sits in cafes, bars, or restaurants no bother. So far she has taken all her adventures in her stride.
She will not jump into the car, she has to be picked up and put in. Once in, she travels well.
She had a couple of accidents at first in foster but in general is very clean in the house. She is a very calm dog, she doesn’t back much even when visitors knock on the door.
She is great with other dogs when out. She was protective in the house of her fosterer and was not happy when another dog came in. She would best as the only dog in the house, or with another calm dog after careful introduction.
Nana has not been with cats so unknown, however, she saw a deer for the first time and would have liked to chase!
Nana is happy to speak to children when out but has not been tested with children in the house.
Nana is a lovely gentle natured girl. Although she has had lots of new experiences while in foster and new places she has been taken her to, she is a calm, curious girl. She likes nothing more than a snuggle on the sofa, loves the woods, beach, being out and about with you.
Visiting the vet: Nana has had her routine healthcheck and is fit and well. Her vaccinations are up to date. She behaved extremely well in the vet surgery.
Behavioural issues: Some separation anxiety.
Home needs: Nana would like a calm but reasonably active home, with plenty of interesting walking opportunities. She would like a secure garden to potter in. She would be fine with older children. She would be great as the only dog in the home but may be fine with another calm dog. She may chase cats.
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
