A little bit about Cleo - Cleo is a beautiful girl. She is a calm, submissive dog, very friendly with people but wary of other dogs encroaching her space. Cleo is a gentle, sweet girl and is very affectionate and well behaved. She likes human company and takes to people quickly. She is very chilled in the home. She likes to watch you as you potter about. She will make a lovely companion for a person or family who don’t have any other dogs and are happy to be a one dog family.
Energy Requirements: Cleo loves her walks. She is happy to go anywhere, particularly loves woodland walks and loves the water. In the morning, she is taken for a walk and toilets and then has her breakfast. She is then taken for a longer walk during the daytime which she really enjoys. She doesn’t really play with toys much. Her dinner is about 6pm, which she eats no problem. Another evening walk and she is happy to settle on couch and give you a cuddle until final toilet break before bedtime.
Training: She loves her walks although pulls a little on the lead when excited. She has good recall. She has had some basic training. She will respond to her name and will take commands when told what to do.
Visiting the vet: Cleo is fit and healthy, and her vaccinations are up to date.
Travelling: Cleo travels very well in the car. She sits in the back seat strapped into the seatbelt. She also travels well in the boot if a hatchback. She will eventually lie down and sleep in the car also.
Food: Cleo is currently eating Skinners kibble with some Chappy dog food. She is fed morning and evening.
Sleep: Cleo sleeps in the family room alone. She is happy to sleep downstairs. She seems to prefer the couch to her bed.
Behavioural issues: Cleo is wary of other dogs and will growl if they invade her space. She will avoid other dogs when out walking but if they come near, she will walk away. However, on occasion if a dog is off lead or comes too near, she will growl and show some aggression. She does not go looking for trouble. There is absolutely no aggression to humans.
Home needs: Cleo needs to be the only dog in the home, she will tolerate a visiting dog but growls if they come too close or want to play. She is much happier when there are no other dogs around. She is very people oriented, so someone around most of the day would be good. She loves her walks and likes to mooch around the garden. Once settled, she can be left for short periods.
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog
