A little bit about Bracken –is a lovely boy who loves his cuddles and affection. In return he will steal your socks and shoes. He is a good boy who wants to see what you are doing all day. He likes to cuddle up on the sofa with you and given the chance would sleep in your bed. He does however sleep in his crate in the kitchen with the radio for company at night.

Energy Requirements:  Bracken is an active 4-year-old who loves a walk, he does pull on a lead but with a figure of 8 he is fine. He loves a good explore and sniff and being outside is his perfect way to spend a day. He also enjoys playing with a ball and is good at fetch – once he has had enough, he takes the ball away and lies down.

Training: Bracken has the basic commands, and his recall is good in the house and garden. Outside in a secure field he will return 9 times out of 10 however if he is following an interesting scent, he will ignore your calls.

Visiting the vet: He has visited the vet and was a charming boy, he is at the upper end of his ideal weight, though with exercise this is slowly reducing. He let the vet examine him and he is fit and healthy.

Travelling:  He travels either on the back seat of the car secured or in the boot. Cars mean adventures and he likes adventures.

Food: Bracken currently eats Skinners field and trial twice a day and does like some raw vegetables, he is a counter surfer and will attempt to eat your tea. He does not beg at the table and will lie under the table while you eat.

Sleep:  Bracken sleep in the kitchen in his crate, he likes the radio on quietly during the night for company, in his previous home he slept in his crate in the bedroom. He is an earlier riser.

Behavioural issues: Bracken is clingy and likes to be with you, he can be left for a short time and will welcome you back like a long-lost friend. He will bring you gifts -socks/shoes and anything else he thinks you might like. These gifts will be given to you on command, and he does not guard them.

Home needs: Bracken would like an active home, with someone around most of the time. He loves his walks, so an environment with interesting walking options would be ideal. When not out on walks, he likes to play ball in the garden. He would be fine with older children and another friendly dog/s. He would also be fine as an onky dog getting all the attention. He would chase a cat.

Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog
