2025 Round Up
Hi everyone. As we enter 2026 we’re delighted to show everyone the year end round up.
2025 proved to be another busy year for us and we are so very grateful to each one of you who have been out and about doing home visits, spaniel smuggling and taking on fundraising events and challenges to support us.
Let’s start with figures, as we know it is ALL about the dogs!
In 2025 we had:
72 surrender enquiries.
24 rehomed elsewhere or changed their mind in progressing with us.
48 rehomed by us, 2 in partnership with another rescue centre.
Breed, age, colour and adoption areas are covered in the charts below.
Sadly 3 of our permanent foster dogs were put to sleep, our heartfelt thanks to the foster families who cared for Ty, Ruby & Toby.
We have 4 dogs now in permanent foster and plan to start doing regular updates on them via the website and social media, keep an eye open for these.
As of 31st December 2025, there are 8 dogs in foster, under assessment – three of whom have ongoing medical requirements, and further 3 waiting on volunteer assessments and foster space.
FUNDRAISING
We attended several new events this year, some large and some small, feedback has been great and we’ve already been invited back to some again for 2026.
Santa Paws was another success and our dedicated team committed to the required hours also securing us £3000.00 in Lifeline Vouchers which is phenomenal, it will be spent on flea / tick preventatives, Yumove for our supported adoption dogs and leads, beds, and food for the foster dogs in need.
This is not every event we attended, but to give you an idea, this was up to the end of summer:
Plus what was collected in our cans in various shops.
It doesn’t have to be a feat of fitness, as you can see small events make up a large amount of our events as well, maybe there is an event near you you’d like to try having a stall at?
This is not every event we attended, but to give you an idea of the types of events attended, see below.
VOLUNTEERS:
Our volunteer numbers have held steady, we’ve said goodbye to some as circumstances change, and we welcomed on new people across the board, home checkers, foster families and Area Coordinators.
The committee support roles have been expanded and the way we communicate with foster families has changed with support chat groups proving a success.
We always appreciate any feedback, negative or positive on the website, social media, or any of the tasks you undertake and interactions you have with us. We are working through the latest volunteer update forms, and every comment will be looked at and discussed with action taken.
We continue to recruit new volunteers across Scotland, if you can offer any time to us please get in touch with us using the website, or volunteers@springerrescuescotland.org
