Hi, I’m Toby! I’m a very lovely oldie. I am very loving and my fosterers say I’m a real gentleman. I am a very peaceful dog, and I love cuddles.
Energy Requirements: Toby enjoys a walk in the park for around 15 minutes on level ground. He can be a bit sore if over-exercised. He loves wandering around the garden with the back door open so he can come and go as he pleases.
Training: Toby walks well on the lead.
Visiting the vet: Toby has had his SRS health check. His back legs are a bit arthritic, and he is on high strength YuMove which helps. He has had a recent vestibular episode but has recovered well. He is a bit deaf and his eyesight is not what it was. Considering his age he is in very good condition. He is neutered.
Travelling: Toby settles well in the car.
Food: Toby eats three good meals a day and is currently on Skinners Senior with oily fish and vegetables.
Sleep: Toby sleeps all night in his bed in the kitchen. There have been no accidents in his foster home.
Behavioural issues: No behavioural issues. Toby is a contented, happy and quiet old boy.
Home needs: Toby needs a very special home - calm and quiet where he can have lots of TLC. He has lived with another older Springer. No young children or boisterous dogs as he can be a bit unsteady on his paws. He bonds particularly well with men. A safe garden to potter about in would be ideal, and gentle walks so he can have a good sniff. His fosterers say he is the best dog they’ve ever fostered, and there have been many!
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.
