A little bit about Ozzy – Ozzy is a gentle, affectionate dog. He loves nothing more than curling up beside you for a tummy tickle. He likes playing with a ball or a stick, loves a walk and being outside. He is a slow eater though is learning to not leave food in his bowl as the other dogs he’s living with steal it. He is happy being left alone for a wee while. Ozzy is a lovely friendly dog; he interacts well with other dogs while out walking. He is a little unfit, but this is improving. He is currently living with other dogs though would be fine on his own.
Current routine: Two walks in the day, the second one is in the evening. He is happy to chill, play in the garden or go for a walk. He does get a little excited when he sees his lead.
Energy Requirements: He likes a walk and while a little unfit will walk 2-3 miles.
Training: Ozzy pulls on the lead but is reported to have good recall. You will need to develop a relationship with hm before letting him off the lead in a safe area. He has all the basic commands.
Visiting the vet: Ozzy behaves really well at the Vet and is happy to get checked over. He is up to date with his vaccinations.
Travelling: Ozzy travels well in the car, clipped into a seat belt or secure in the boot.
Food: Ozzy eats kibble, slowly, twice a day.
Sleep: Ozzy sleeps in his own bed in the kitchen.
Behavioural issues: None reported.
Home needs: Ozzy would like a calm but active home, with someone around most of the time. He enjoys his walks, so access to interesting safe walks would be ideal, and a garden to potter in between walks. He would be fine with another friendly dog, but would be happy on his own being the centre of attention.
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog
