A little bit about Milly: Milly is a typical young spaniel. Lots of energy, very happy, loves zoomies - a regular pocket rocket! She loves playing with other dogs and will usually have a toy in her mouth (otherwise towels, socks, etc are fair game).

More about Milly: Milly loves her walks, especially up hills! She had led quite a sheltered life before coming into foster but has adjusted very well to a busy schedule. She is happy with long or short walks and will fit into a routine very easily. She has very good recall, doesn’t chase birds or small animals. If she gets a fright she will come straight back. She walks quite well on the lead as long as there are no distractions. She will have rest periods in her crate and sleeps all night. She eats well and is currently fed twice a day, plus some bedtime treats. She is quite a slow eater.

Milly doesn’t bark much, only if startled and then only a few barks. She is fine with most household noises, even the power washer. Although friendly once she knows you, she can be slightly wary of strangers and needs to be coaxed with some treats.

She is getting used to traffic and different environments. She is ok with cars, but still a bit nervous with passing motorbikes and buses and lorries. She is fine in the car for short journeys but likely to be carsick on long trips.

She has been in foster with other dogs and is fine when left with them. She may have some separation anxiety if left completely on her own. She may howl and bark.

Visiting the vet: Milly has had her routine healthcheck and is fit and well. She was very anxious in the vet surgery, but a cuddle and some treats helped her cope.

Behavioural issues: No major issues. Some sound sensitivity if startled. Some separation anxiety.

Home needs: Milly will thrive in an active home with a family committed to continuing her training. Varied and interesting walking opportunities and a garden big enough for zoomies would be ideal. She would be best with another youngish dog/s for company and playtime. She would be fine with dog-savvy children over the age of 8. She has been in foster with cats and should be fine with them.

Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog.

Please do not express interest in Milly if you are going on holiday in the next 8 weeks.
