A little bit about Angus – Angus is a gorgeous, hyper, soft dafty! Just your typical Springer pup! He is a very bouncy, friendly boy. He loves to carry something in his mouth. He sometimes gets so excited he has “puppy sprinkles” but he will grow out of that. He will make a great companion for someone willing to put the effort in with his training. He has such a lovely nature.

Current routine: Angus enjoys a daily routine with walks commensurate with his age. He has plenty of rest time and has training sessions built into his day.

Energy Requirements:  Angus just loves his walks; he has even been up a mountain! He is reluctant to cross ditches and doesn’t like to jump. He has been to the beach with his foster’s dogs and he absolutely loved it. He has discovered swimming! He loves a good run in a secure area. He will chase birds.

Training:  Angus is very strong on the lead, his new family will need to keep up his training and continue to work with him on lead work and recall. His recall is quite good, but he is easily distracted. Angus knows commands, and is quite responsive, but you do need to be firm with him and be consistent with his training.

Visiting the vet: Angus was very good at his routine health check visit, he loved the attention from all the staff, and the biscuits even more! He does have a luxating patella but the vet said this was unlikely to bother him and he doesn’t need surgery.

Travelling:  Angus travels well in the car. He needs to be secured either behind a dog guard or in a crate, and preferably clipped in so  he doesn’t jump out too soon.

Food: Currently on Ava kibble. He is submissive to other dogs and will allow them to steal his food. He is very gentle when taking treats.

Sleep:  sleeps in the kitchen at night in his crate, but has another 2 spaniels sleeping in their beds in the kitchen for company.

Behavioural issues:  No real issues, will bark at other dogs but is not aggressive. He sometimes whines a little when left but will soon settle down.

Home needs: Angus is a great little pup. He needs an active home where his training will continue. Another youngish dog for company would be ideal. He is still very boisterous so no very young children. He likes to have someone around most of the time. He would probably chase cats.

Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog
