A little bit about Alfie – Alfie is a very confident and friendly pup. He loves people, loves getting a fuss and exploring new places. He’s an inquisitive little dog, unfazed by noises, traffic, etc. He can be a bit vocal when he wants something and is a bit of an attention seeker.
Energy Requirements: Alfie has loads of energy. He loves his walks, exploring and playing. As he grows, his exercise can be increased commensurate with his age.
Training: Alfie is still learning but is responding well to training. He is mostly house trained, with very few accidents now. He can sit, stay, and is walking quite well on the lead.
Visiting the vet: Alfie has had his routine health check and is up to date with his vaccinations. He loved getting a fuss at the vet surgery. He is very fit and healthy.
Travelling: Alfie travels well in the car, in the back with a dog guard or clipped on with a harness.
Food: Alfie is very food motivated, which makes training him a little easier. He is currently being fed with good quality puppy food. He also likes treats.
Sleep: Alfie has a regular routine and sleeps all night. He is crate trained, and sleeps in the kitchen with his foster mates.
Behavioural issues: No issues, other than being a lively 4 month old pup!
Home needs: Alfie loves being with other dogs and plays well as long as the other dogs also like playing. As he is still a puppy with sharp little teeth and claws, he would be best in a family with older children. Someone at home most of the time, willing to continue his training, would be ideal. A garden to play in and interesting walks would also be ideal.
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog
