A little bit about Buster – he is a lovely, affectionate dog. He’s a happy, excitable boy with no major issues. He has a lovely, sweet nature and is also quite a confident dog. He is very sociable with other dogs he meets on walks. He has settled well with his fosterers two dogs in the house. He is ultra clingy and follows his fosterer everywhere. He has been left in the house for a couple of hours with no issues. Never been left on his own as he has always had other dogs for company so unsure how he would be on his own.
Energy Requirements. Buster is a typical high energy springer with a strong prey drive. Loves to hunt and explore. Fosterer currently has him out for about 2/3 hours in the morning on a 15 metre training line and lets him follow his nose. A shorter walk of around 45 mins at 7pm.
Training: Buster walks well on the lead. His recall is very good. He knows the basic commands and is very responsive to them. Buster has a reputation as an escape artist, but his fosterers have found no evidence of this. He has been very well trained by his previous owners and is a very fit young dog.
Travelling: Buster is a good traveller, either clipped on with a harness in the back seat, or in the boot of a hatchback.
Visiting the vet: Buster has had his routine health check and is fit and healthy. He has been brought up to date with his vaccinations. He is in fantastic shape and well-toned all round.
Buster will be adopted with a contract to be neutered once he is settled.
Food: He is currently being fed Ava Medium Breed dry kibble mixed with tinned wet food twice a day. 0700 and 1600. He loves his food and treats and needs no encouragement whatsoever.
Sleep: Buster sleeps well on his bed next to me. Has been prone to nocturnal migration during the night where he will sneak up onto our bed and snuggle up.
Behavioural issues: No behavioural issues reported.
Home needs: Buster would like an active home, with someone around most of the time. He will thrive in a calm environment, with lots of exercise and a very secure garden to play in. Someone with a commitment to continue his training would be desirable. He would be fine with older children. Buster is used to living with another dog/s.
Ongoing support: Springer Rescue for Scotland will be available for any support with your new dog and can offer behavioural support in case of any problems that may arise on adopting a dog
Please do not express interest in Buster if you are going on holiday in the next 6-8 weeks. Buster will not be going to his new home until after the festive period.
